The Friends meet the third Tuesday of each month, in the Library’s Local History Room.

Volunteering

Application Form
To join Friends of the Library, return the application form to Alamosa Public Library with appropriate dues. You will receive a yearly membership card which gives you 20% discount on purchases at the book sales and late fees on your library account are forgiven.

The Friends always need good volunteers to help with hauling or unpacking boxes, setting up tables, sorting, shelving, advertising and book collection, or recycling.

Book Sale News

Visit the Friends of the Library Book Nook located inside the library.  The Library  hours: Mon. – Fri. 9-6 p.m. and Saturday 10-2 p.m.

See schedule below for other sale dates.

We are accepting larger donations by appointment: call Allyn at 719-588-9410.  Drop off will be at the Friends of the Library’s “Spines” building.  Small donations (up to 20 books) can be taken to the Library (call 719-589-6592).

May 4             9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

June 1            9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

July 6              9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

August 3         9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

September 7   9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

October 5        9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Call Allyn Lewis 719-588-9410 to make an appointment to Shop or deliver donations at ‘Spines’.

Sale Location and Parking

The Friends sale shed is located north of the Alamosa Post Office and just west of the new skate board area at Cole Park.

From 3rd Street, turn north into the alley between the post office and Pro-Clean and then look to the right.

From 2nd Street, turn south in either of the 2 alley entrances and then look to the left.

Parking near the shed is usually available unless there is a big event in the park.
