Music of the West African Kora – LIVE with Sean Gaskell

Join us at the Library for a one-of-a-kind live concert. Sean Gaskell studied in Gambia and Senegal to learn the kora – a 21-stringed West African harp. The kora is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots, and traditional songs preserve an 800 year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire. Come to this performance to learn about the kora and hear it played.
